Days #17-19

Ok, I dont have much to talk about, and I am writing on a Spanish keyboard, which is weird, so if things look funny, that why. I cant find the apostrophe.
Tuesday was a long day of classes, but good. I watched the inauguration with people from the program in between classes. I was on campus for a total of 12 hours. Intense!
Yesterday was a holiday here. Stacey, Kori, Sarah, Vankat, Manuel, and I all went to the beach in Sosua. We took a 2 hour bus ride, which cost 130 pesos. It was so much fun. Although it was a little touristy, it was adorably lined with shops and restaurants. They charge people 10 pesos to use to bathrooms/showers on the beach...pretty funny. For lunch, we had chicken, salad, and plaintains. We spent the whole day in the water, which was turqouise blue. The beach was a bay surrounded with hills and mountains. I will definately go back there!! Surprisingly (since its a small town), there was a commerical airport. There was a lot of air traffic coming in and going out (including Continental). The planes would get over one side of the hill/mountain, then they would get so low over the waters where we were swimming, and the landing strip is right on the edge of the bay. It has to be such a pretty view from the plane. It rained for abuot 20 minutes in the afternoon, but we stayed in the water because it was warmer in there. I played Monopolio with the kids when I got home, had dinner (chiken salad sandwhich...different kind of chiken salad but equally delicious), showered, packed for the weekend, then went to bed.
Today, I had class at 8, and we got out early. I have class again in a few minutes, until 1. The guagua leaves at 11:30 for Las Terrenas, and the last one is at 3pm. I hope we catch the 3 oclock, because if we dont we are S.O.L. They said it will be a 4 hour (more or less...one of the mostly commonly used phrase here) guagua ride. Doug and Helen are picking us up in town when we arrive. I called to ask them if they needed me to bring anything from the city, and Helen replied, {Oh no darling, just bring some booze}. haha. I dont get cell phone reception at there house, so if anyone needs anything for EMERGENCIES, call the house phone at 809.433.3963. I will be there until Monday afternoon (because Monday is also a national holiday:) ) We plan on beaching it, whale watching on Saturday, and chilling in the town. Hopefully, I will have lots of pictures to post on Monday/Tuesday when I return. Im sure I will have plenty of stories to share!!
I have a few more things to add to the blog, just funny Dominicanisms. I have to go to class right now though. Hope you all have a good weekend. Make comments on my blogs...sillys, especially when I ask for input on something. Ok, CHAO!

So jealous your beaches are nice! Beaches in Guatemala are their trash cans...or place to mug tourists...you better feel fortunate where you got to study abroad! I want a spanish blog.
