Day #6 & #7

What a weekend! On Friday night, we had our progressive dinner. We had salad at my house, then vegetable soup at another girls house, then pasta at the next house, flan at the next, and lastly coffee. It was cool to be able to get a variety of food and see everyone else's families. After dinner, we went to the Aguila's game. They lost 4-2, but it was still fun. We didn't get home till 12:30 which sucked because we were all really tired.
Saturday we had to be on the bus by 7am. It had just finished raining at 6am and was still sprinkling a little on my walk. Santo Domingo was really cool to see. We went to the Colonial District, where Christopher Colon first landed in the Americas. Lynne is a historian and knows a lot about the area. The architecture of the district was old-fashioned and so pretty. I will post pictures soon. After that, we went to the old sugar cane plantations. They are out in the country and rarely visited. It was really neat to see the old buildings and imagine what it was like in its time.
Today, I got to sleep in a bit:) Sarah, her host sister, and I went to the store (like a wal-mart) to buy school supplies. I had to buy a mirror for my room so I can do my hair in the morning. Then, we had lasagna at her house. After lunch, since the weather was so perfect, we went to a restaurant right by the university and had a beer. It was an outdoor restaurant, and we sat on the second level with a nice breeze. When I came home, I had a little bit of salad and chicken for dinner.
Tomorrow, I am going to the beach after class. I have class only from 8-10 am. I will let you all know how it is.
